Job Description

We are looking for a professional, energetic and innovative engineer to join Generation Engineering Department (GED), Generation Business Group (GBG) of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. Reporting to the Project Management Branch, the appointee will be an active member of a multi-project management team which develops and executes various engineering projects of GBG. Major duties will include:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development, planning and execution of some small-to-medium scale plant upgrade and refurbishment projects;
  • Support in developing & defining project basis, prepare project schedule, prepare specifications, tender evaluation & make recommendations for contract award and develop project execution plans;
  • Liaise with contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure project works are executed to meet the company business needs and relevant statutory requirements;
  • Supervise contractors’ activities and be accountable for the safe and quality execution works at GBG sites;
  • Conduct frequent site inspections to monitor progress, safety and quality of works;
  • Manage changes of work and support in handover of the completed systems and documentation to asset owners;
  • Support in Liaising with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, services contractors to ensure the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance requirements can satisfy the company business needs and all statutory requirements;
  • Support development and implementation of innovative initiatives and advanced technology applications in upgrade projects.

 Requirements:

  • A recognized university degree in Electrical/Electronic or equivalent Engineering discipline plus at least 3 years relevant working experience; or higher diploma/certificate in a relevant discipline plus no less than 5 years relevant working experience;
  • Basic Knowledge of project management concepts, work planning & execution and cost estimating;
  • Good understanding of the operation and maintenance practices and processes in the power stations, and conversant with the basic engineering principles behind the various processes of power plant generation are preferred;  
  • Previous exposures in safety, health and environmental requirements pertaining to project works in the generation industry is advantageous;
  • Hands-on contractual & commercial knowledge associated with contract execution and contractor management;
  • A pro-active, communicative, flexible and self-driven team player seeking to build a career in CLP;
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 The appointees will be required to work in the Power Stations located at Tuen Mun area.
