Our client, a well reputed Investment Bank, is currently looking for a Core System Administrator to join their Infrastructure & Production team in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical/architectural consulting for application integration to various business systems.

• Perform ongoing performance tuning, monitoring and daily backup operations checking.

• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning

• Develop and maintain configuration management tools.

• Install and maintain security patches on the operational and development systems.  

• Contribute to new or ongoing regional projects when required. Eg. Configure server hardware, work with cluster technology, install new servers on bare metal and/or virtual machines, help relocate or rebuild existing servers and work on automation to deliver our services.

• Apply operating system patches and upgrades on a regular basis.

• Make recommendations for team improvements and standard operational procedures (SOP).

• Be able to perform early- or night-shift duty roster.

• Work closely with regional and global teams in different timezones when necessary.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience working in Financial Industry

• Must have recent experience supporting both Redhat Linux & IBM AIX OS

• Must have solid understanding and experience with one or more of the following: Veritas Clusters, Veritas Foundation, EMC PowerPath with storage either on SAN/NAS, Native OS multi-pathing

• Must know how to code and apply Ansible Tower Playbooks

• Experience in using system patching tools such as Redhat Satellite ad IBM BigFix

• Strong architecture know-how on IBM/Lenovo, p-Series, i-Series and x-Series & DELL Proliant servers

• Qualified on ITIL V3 Foundation framework (focus on Incident and Change management)

Other value - Added Competencies:

• Experience working in a team on both support and projects, using Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies or in DevOps mode

• Experience supporting virtual technologies, OpenStack, VMware ESXi & Citrix XenApp

• Ability to write scripts in common administrative languages (Ansible playbook, Shell, Perl, Python)

• Knowledge on OpenStack, Redhat MRG, Docker, Rancher, HP CSA and HP OO, ITRS Geneos, ELK & MongoDB

• Knowledge on Design Thinking & Puppet

• Knowledge and experience with Nutanix or other leading-edge Hyper Convergence Appliances
