Application Development Manager (TENCEL™ Luxe China)

Purpose of the role:

•  Create a push effect for TENCEL™ Luxe focusing on the fabric level.

• Develop different applications / prototypes for TENCEL™ Luxe (e.g. denim, lining, crepe, blouses, dresses, scarves, accessories, sewing threads, warp-knits …).

• Create new and use existing value and supply chain partners (yarn- and fabric makers, etc.), in order to develop and expand the business as well as manage these as Key Accounts.

• Connect the partners (yarn, fabric, dyeing & finishing as well as brand) in order to create fabric collections.

• Support to develop IP and technological related data by engaging with other functions to drive this business unit of the Lenzing Group.

Process responsibility:

• Connect and coordinate with Regional Business Development, Branding / Communication, Technical Customer Service and Application Development.
• IP support for products and applications together with legal department and BD.

Principal accountabilities/Main tasks:

•  Identify application developments with promising market potential and appropriate development partners (customers, R&D institutions, machinery & textile chemical suppliers etc.). Execute, control and/or accompany all application developments in textile segments
• Next to replacement of existing high-end filaments like silk and cupro.
• Set up NDA’s and JDA’s as necessary.
• Stimulate fabric development with existing partners by expanding the business through advertisement support to the customer, marketing and supply chain service respectively connecting with the relevant roles within the Lenzing group.
• Communicate and present fabrics, concepts, … to supply chain partners, like twisters, dyers and also brands / retailers. 

Our expectations for this exciting role:

• Profound knowledge & experience in textile value chain (focus filament-based products).

• Technical expertise in product & application development of (cellulose) filaments.

• Understanding of key drivers to create business in the textile value chain focusing on fabric development.

• Commercially driven mindset, strong vision & clear start up spirit.

• Strong communication and influencing skills in English and Mandarin

• 70% travel is required
