Summary of what the candidate is expected to do: 

The Senior Account Manager (SAM) supports the Business Director (BD) by managing the account on a day-to-day basis, dealing with all agency departments efficiently and handling all Client requests.

 

The SAM operates their team as an individual business unit, managing creative development from Client brief through to production, job cost reports and Client invoices. They act as a mentor to the Account Executive/Account Manager and provide guidance and supervision to ensure general account administration including WIPs and estimates are in order.

 

The SAM should be able to manage any issues unsupervised and inspire confidence in the creative team and the Client/s that they can do so.

 

The role of the SAM on British American Tobacco (BAT) involves working in an integrated team across the agency business, developing brand and trade campaigns, working with and managing internal and external stakeholders.

 

The SAM will be responsible for managing pipeline forecasting & reporting, account planning and the professional execution and delivery of client projects on time and in full.

The SAM is the gate keeper and is responsible for the success of the business unit. The role is also critical in allowing the BD to focus on strategic areas rather than day-to-day activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 3+ years’ experience in advertising and communications in an agency environment
  • Experience and demonstrated success in managing an account/business unit
  • Experience supervising and managing the performance of 1 or more team members
  • Experience and success establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the creative team, the Client/s and third-party suppliers
  • Experience delivering presentations in a proficient and confident manner.
  • Experience and knowledge in production (esp. packaging) preferred
  • Less experience will be considered as Account Manager
