Role Overview

Reporting to Legal Manager, Asia.   You are a qualified lawyer, ideally with in-house experience in a position of responsibility.  You have sound legal knowledge with strong commercial background, and excellent interpersonal skills. Supporting teams, you will be a business facilitator, with the ability to identify problems, proactively propose solutions and provide all-round legal service.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build strong relationship with various business functions and provide daily legal support to them on sale of goods, consumer protection, trademark, data protection, competition, anti-corruption, employment, etc.
• Provide expert, ethical and pragmatic advice, and supporting commercial and contract issues across the business in Hong Kong and Asia.
• Assist the business in navigating complex issues with an output and delivery focus.
• Draft and review commercial agreements (trading, purchasing, supply, distribution agreements, etc).
• Manage disputes with third parties, handling litigation.
• Deliver legal training to internal employees.
• Assist in legal entity governance matters, including company secretarial management.
• Manage external counsel and local legal budget where appropriate.

• LLB Degree Holder or equivalent.  
• 2 - 3 years post qualification experience gained from in-house corporate environment/Law Firm.
• Relevant experience in the field of FMCG, food, or pharmaceuticals would be advantageous. 
• Legal knowledge in a wide variety of relevant areas of law applicable to the company’s business, including sales & marketing, regulatory, compliance, commercial, and corporate transactional matters.
• Willingness to learn new areas of law, to practice as a generalist, and to learn key aspects of the company’s business.
• More experienced candidates will be considered as Senior Officer.
