About the company and position:

L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts is looking for docents now! If you are interested in Jewelry Arts, Heritage and Culture, sharing and transmission, do not miss this unique opportunity to be a part of our team!

L’ÉCOLE has opened its first overseas permanent campus in Hong Kong since November 2019 to continuously share the Jewelry culture with a large and varied audience. The school is located in K11 MUSEA, a unique cultural destination in the heart of Hong Kong’s art and design district Victoria Dockside.

Along with the courses, L’ÉCOLE Asia Pacific will also offer a full-year cultural program with curated exhibitions showcasing jewelry arts from the most magnificent private collections, remarkable creations by contemporary artists, or incredible gemstones, nature’s greatest gifts.
L’ÉCOLE Asia Pacific is therefore seeking Docents to lead tours and interact with the visitors to share knowledge about the exhibits displayed. The Docent will be part of a dynamic team within L’ÉCOLE, he/she will be responsible for supporting and assisting in docent-led tours through L’ÉCOLE’s premises and exhibition area.

Main duties:

• Ticketing and welcoming tour groups upon their arrival
• Provide guided tour services of approximately 30 minutes in length
• Conduct tours of school premises
• Assist, on occasion, with special event programs
• Assist staff at the Reception by providing information
• Build up a good communication bridge for L’ÉCOLE and the visitors

Preferences:

• Good command of spoken English and Cantonese, Mandarin would be advantageous
• Available to work on duty roster during week-ends and public holidays
• Knowledge of gemology would be great advantage

Capacity:

• Four-month contract on hourly-pay basis
• Working hours: 11:00am – 7:00pm
• Minimum working days: 3 – 4 days per week
