Job Description

Duties

(i)                  To assist in liaison, planning, coordination, implementation and review of territory-wide Library Festival, Story Ambassador Programme, reading activities and outreach programmes;

(ii)                To assist in designing and organizing fun-filled and interactive activities suitable for people of different ages, generations and ethnicities;

(iii)              To liaise and coordinate with branch libraries, community libraries, the education sectors, cultural and youth organizations, NGOs and commercial bodies, etc. for organizing reading promotion activities and outreach programmes;

(iv)              To assist in community engagement activities and analyze findings for programmes and service improvement;

(v)                To prepare articles and promotional materials for different channels, including virtual mobile platform;

(vi)              To draft details and provide input to the design and production of promotional material, to liaise with contractor, to monitor the production, delivery and distribution of publicity materials;

(vii)            To assist in finance, supplies and general administration and compilation of statistical returns of programmes and activities’

(viii)          To evaluate and analyze feedback collected and initiate new measures and enhancement;

(ix)              To finalize work schedules of supporting staff, to plan and supervise staff training, and to conduct annual staff reporting and efficiency rating of supporting staff;

(x)                To prepare and issue tenders and service level agreement, to inspect, monitor and evaluate the performance of the contractor/engaged artists in accordance to tender specifications and/or service level agreements; and

(xi)              To assist in handling enquiries.


 Requirement:

(a)    Have a bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university or equivalent;

(b)   Possess ‘Level 3’ or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.

(c)    At least two years full-time post qualification working experience;

(d)   Be fluent in Cantonese, English and Preferably Putonghua;

(e)   Have good knowledge in common computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel. PowerPoint and Chinese word Processing; and;

(f)     Preference might be given to those with social services or education background or with experience in libraries or event management.
