My client is an award winning Saas company with a long history in Asia, they have multiple operations within APAC with HK and SG serving as the main regional hubs. My client is known for cutting-edge technology and a user friendly platform. As their business is continuously expanding, my client is looking for a Head of Software Engineering to manage a small team.

Responsibility

• Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery. 
• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship. 
• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
• Design the technical solutions and lead the technical development with the software engineering team
• Participate in development projects, user requirement gathering, system design, programming, analysis and implementation
• Evaluate new stack components and architecture and contribute to new ideas on improving the product
• Ensuring effective back-end functionality of applications; manage and ensure the coding standards and system quality
• Work closely with the business and product team to deliver software and technologies to users
• Establishing the root causes of application errors, keeping record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates.
• Documenting processes and monitoring application performance metrics.

Requirement 

• At least 4-6 years of experience in web application development or software development preferably in financial institution
• Prior experience in a technical leadership position
• Hands on experience and strong knowledge in Java, JavaScipt, TypeScript, ReactJS
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, AWS cloud and Kubernetes, Azure DevOps.
• Good understanding of Spring Cloud, Oracle DB, MongoDB would be an advantage
• Knowledge of Python programming language, Docker and Kubernetes; with certain experience in an agile/scrum team 
• Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders 
• Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
