Job Purpose:
“To lead the Accounts Payable team to ensure that all liabilities and payments are properly recorded and accounted for in the financial statements, payments are processed promptly and properly in accordance with the policies and procedures.”
Key Accountabilities:
In addition to following Lane Crawford Group’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that all vendors’ invoices are recorded properly and promptly in the Accounts Payable
- Review and monitor the aging of creditors and ensure payments are effected on time
- Review payment batches prepared by subordinates
- Update cash flow projection weekly
- Address vendors’ and other departments’ enquiries regarding payment issues
- Review reconciliation of creditors’ statements, report and follow up any exceptions identified
- Monitor and co-ordinate with other departments to ensure that all incurred expenses not invoiced are accrued in the financials
- Monitor month-end closing for payables and prepare monthly schedules
- Prepare year-end audit schedules for annual audit
- Liaise with banks for any payment issues such as bills, bank charges and foreign exchange
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Accounts Payable experience, preferably in the retail industry but not a must
- Good analytic and excel skills, i.e. pivot table, vlookup
- Experience using Oracle Finance is an advantage
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Knowledge of Putonghua is a definite advantage
- CPA qualified is preferred but not a must
