Job Description

Purpose:

Work in the Data Governance & Quality Management domain to serve as the contact point for governance, data quality and protection issues and work with Business and Function area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data asset as well as support the strategic data requirement of the Group.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

To establish the data governance and management policy, guidelines and controls oversee execution and review them on an annual basis
To support Data Governance Committee and task force to drive the implementation of framework
To support Data Governance section to oversee the governance and quality standards for the bank's data management; aimed at strengthening the bank's competitiveness and improve customer experience through the use of data assets
To support in defining data strategy to establish and ensure adherence to bank's data governance framework for data policies, standard, quality and governance metrics processes
To serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and Technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined
To work with key stakeholders to identify critical data and ensure that all identified data elements are formally listed, unambiguously defined from both business and IT perspectives in data dictionary

Job Requirement:

University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or related discipline
Minimum 10 years working experience in Data Governance from recognized establishments in financial services and/or banking sector
Experience in establishing and monitoring of data governance framework
Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data governance framework
Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
In-depth knowledge on business and operation models of banking, with thorough understanding on the local regulatory environment
Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of the enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
Advanced analytical skills, be able to visualize opportunity and issues from data
Proficiency in Microsoft Tools (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Vision, Word)
Committed deliverer with abilities and desire to make things happens
Positive personality with desire and passion in supporting business growth through smart application of technology
Good communication (Cantonese and English, with Putonghua an advantage), presentation, collaboration and influencing skills
Resourceful, creative and proactive in continuous improvement and advancement
Good team player striving for team success and win-win results
Keen to learn but at the same time willing to share learning with others
