Responsibilities

• Assist the Purchasing Manager by perform purchasing, sourcing, and inventory control activities, e.g. price and contract negotiation with manufacturers, cost analysis, purchase orders and documents follow up, explore the new products to suit the market needs, keep the inventory in a healthy level and monitor the replenishment needs, inbound logistics management etc.
• Work closely with internal parties such as the sales and the warehouse team to keep track of inventory movement
• Evaluate and monitor suppliers performance to ensure quality, safety standards and schedules are meet
• Vendor management
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports and inventory control
• Handle ad hoc duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Diploma or University degree in any related disciplines
• At least 5 years of purchasing / importing experience with 2 years at a supervisor or managerial level
• Experience in building materials industry or Engineering background is an advantage
• Experience in global purchasing or sourcing a plus
• Travel to Mainland China / Overseas occasionally
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Chinese Word Processing
• Self-motivated and a good team player with initiative to work under very dynamic environment and tight deadlines
