The role of the Playgroup Teacher for children aged (6 months – 2 years) is essentially to build and maintain a successful Playgroup programme by providing an educational atmosphere conducive to learning and developing through the process of play-based learning. 

Working hours (subject to the arrangement of school):

Mon - Fri (4:00 pm - 5:30 pm)
Sat (9:00 am - 12:30 pm)

Responsibilities

• Support in designing and preparing challenging, innovative, interactive and exciting experiences for children in the various Playgroup ages which are age appropriate and will enable them to flourish and achieve their potential;
• Design, prepare and deliver lessons to suit the individual needs of all students using a range and balance of teaching strategies;
• Promote the enjoyment of learning;
• Ensure the classroom and school environment are well-managed, inviting, organised and neatly presented;
• Nurture meaningful relationships with children and their families and provide the individual attention they need;
• Communicate accurately, regularly and meaningfully with families of students in their care.
    

• Early Childhood Education Diploma or higher;
• Native English speaker;
• Child Care Worker Certification;
• Must be a HK permanent resident;
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Early Years education;
• Experience in working with children 6 months to 2 years of age;
• Previous international experience highly valued;
• Knowledge/ Experience of Reggio Emilia Approach is advantageous;
• Must pass background checks on suitability to work with children.
