Job Description
The appointee will work on the development of polymer synthesis, adhesive formulation, foam recipe development and/or polymer composite compounding with applications in encapsulation/coating/adhesive polymer, polymeric elastomer, polyurethane foaming and related processing technology. He/she will work in a dynamic and efficient team which is responsible for:
- Work on functional polymer design, synthesis, polymer foaming and/or polymer modification to fulfill project target;
- Design polymer composite formulation and develop appropriate process;
- Apply the composite to make prototype to achieve desired functions;
- Characterize and test samples from process stages and evaluating the material performance;
- Scaling up process for trial production; and
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
- MPhil or PhD degree holder in Polymer Science / Engineering or related disciplines fulfilling the following technical requirements:
- Research experience in design, fabrication and characterization of polymer/composite;
- Research experience in chemical and mechanical characterization of polymer composite materials; and / or
- Good knowledge of polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer composite and engineering.
- Experience in the following areas would be an advantage:Hard-working and have a strong sense of ownership for his/her work is a must;
- Industrial experience in product development;
- Formulation experience in the industry about polyolefin, polyurethane, epoxy, acrylate or silicon oil/rubber; and / or
- Polymer processing experience such as reaction injection, extrusion, vacuum molding, blowing film, PU foaming, fiber spinning et.al would be an advantage.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills;
- Creative and passionate for innovation;
- Team work with good communication skills;
- Self-motivated and pre-active working style;
- Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing/presentation skills as well as abilities in literature/patent search; and
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Engineer.
