Job Description

The Infrastructure Services Manager is responsible for leading the Infrastructure Services Team in managing all network and core systems, ensuring the overall integrity of data, security, and infrastructure in all areas of information technologies. Responsible for ensuring the school’s information assets are properly protected through the implementation of IT security procedures, security software, and security administration functions across multiple platforms. Research, evaluate, test, and recommend new/upgrades to Information Systems to ensure ongoing improvement and relevancy of systems and products. Responsible for documenting standards, implementing procedures, and troubleshooting IT processes. Train and upskill infrastructure team members on engineering, project implementation, problem resolution, and maintaining the school’s IT infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • University graduate, Computer Science or Computer Engineering graduate preferred
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies including WLAN
  • Knowledge of server and operating system technologies, particularly Windows
  • Knowledge of network and server monitoring technologies
  • Knowledge of security standards applicable to infrastructure operations
  • One or more industry certifications (CISCO, MCSA, MCSE, Project+, Network+, Novell, VMWare)
  • Business Management certificates/diplomas an advantage
Experience:
  • At least five years relevant experience designing, implementing, managing, supporting and documenting Microsoft Windows, SAN, NAS, Palo Alto firewall, VMWare, Veeam Backup, Cisco ISE, and Linux networks
  • At least five years relevant experience designing, implementing, managing and administering Cisco routing and switching networking equipment, including the use of Cisco Prime software
  • At least two years relevant experience designing, implementing, managing, supporting and documenting secure environments (VPN, Firewalls, SSL/SSH, IDS, DR)
  • Sound working knowledge of LAN/WAN routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, web filtering, proxy services
  • Experience in working in an LDAP and Active Directory environment
  • Experience in working with Novell is preferred
  • Experience in supporting Apple and Microsoft products (eg. Apple iOS, Apple TV, Apple software, Windows OS, MS Office)
  • Familiar with Google Apps (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc.). Google Administrator certification preferred
  • Experience in supporting Juniper Wireless LAN Access Points (APs) and JAMF Casper Suite management is an advantage
  • Experience in supporting Sophos SafeGuard encryption is an advantage
  • Experience with long term and strategic planning
  • Experience in leading a team
Personal Skills/Qualities:
  • Solid English and Cantonese communication skills, verbal and written. The ability to communicate in Mandarin is also an advantage
  • Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to work as a flexible, collaborative, and supporting team member while excelling in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Problem-solving skills on network, hardware and software, maintenance, repair, and recovery
  • Ability to take initiative and independently exercise judgment in making decisions, while also leading a team of highly capable individuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Good at project planning and time management
  • Ability to work with people of various backgrounds with all levels of technical knowledge
  • Willing to work with and support our students and learning community
  • Willing to work outside office hours when required, especially during busy periods
  • Ability to handle confidential files and information in a professional manner
  • Intellectual flexibility, technical curiosity and a sense of humor, including the ability to learn independently.
