Background: My client is one of the top-tier financial services firms in Hong Kong who is now looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer (Linux) to join their team.

Duties

• Provide system integration to the on premise or on cloud IT system, hardware and software solution related to Linux platform.
• Develop cloud-based application support strategy and ability to build CI/CD pipeline for process automation and opensource tool integration from AWS or Azure
• Responsible for Linux DevOps Openshift Support and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
• Provide day-to-day management and support of Cloud and On-Premise IT systems and services availability, capacity and critical support for business systems.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineer
• Be a Linux administrator to maintain and support on-premises and cloud Linux platform.
• Support key infrastructure operation for Linux include implementing and supporting the existing/new technology solutions.
• Work with project manager, virtual team and solution architects and business user during the analysis, definition, and development phase for projects.
• Provide day-to-day maintenance work, includes system performance monitoring and tuning.
• Support software/ application patching/upgrade, backup operation, develop scripts for system automation job and assist in DR Drill and BCP process.

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent
• Hands-on experience in Linux platform administration with strong knowledge on Azure CLI, PaaS, SaaS and IaaS in a sizeable company.
• Solid experience in Azure/AWS cloud platform for, Linux DevOps Openshift (ARO) or Kubernetes (K8S), Containers, Dockers, Quay, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible and Virtualization technology
• Familiar RESTful, microservices on K8S platform will be an advantage.
• Experience in system administration scripting such as JSON, YAML, Python and Ansible playbook.
• Good command of written English and Chinese; fluent in spoken English
