Job Description
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES OFFICE
Senior Specialist / Specialist (Research Computing and Support Services) (Ref. 22051330)
Duties
The appointee will be assigned to work in the System Infrastructure Services Section and responsible for supporting the Research Computing Services. He/She will be required to:
(a) conduct IT workshops on Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics for students and researchers;
(b) assist students and researchers to perform data analytics with Machine Learning / Deep Learning techniques for their research activities;
(c) support and update related application/tools in research computing environment;
(d) participate in research applications development projects; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognized degree in Computing, Software Engineering or a related discipline;
(b) preferably have hands-on experience in Python or R programming;
(c) preferably have experience in applying Machine Learning algorithms to solve business problems;
(d) have good interpersonal and communication skills; and
(e) be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
Applicants with five or more years of relevant experience may be considered for the post of Senior Specialist.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
