The Role

The position involves investigation, evaluation and management of property insurance claims. The role will require to provide an efficient and high-quality liability claims handling service for various insurers. The role will be providing direct support to policy holders whilst reporting to their Insurers in respect to the claim investigation findings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To perform a loss adjusting function in respect of new claims and those already handled in the offices which have been delegated by Senior Adjusters. This will involve, but not be limited to: -
  • Receiving and acknowledging new claims instructions
  • Managing and coordinating claims in a timely and professional manner
  • Undertaking site visits and meeting with Insurers, Reinsurers, Brokers, Claimants, Insureds and other interested parties
  • Preparing preliminary reports commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including legal and policy liability considerations, potential quantum and future actions
  • Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other experts as necessary
  • Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications
  • Calculating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims, and preparing accurate final reports.
  1. To assist in and develop the effective marketing of CTA Property Adjusting team. This will include, but not be limited to: -
  • Developing working relationships with existing Clients
  • Helping to identify and plan approaches to new Clients
  • Hosting and attending networking events outside of office hours
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations and tenders to Clients and potential Clients
  • Assisting others with their marketing functions.
  1. Adhoc Duties:
  • As requested by your Line Manager or relevant Director, to perform reasonable ad hoc duties within the Job Holder’s capabilities.
Required Skills
  • University degree qualified in Engineering / Law / other relevant subject
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience of relevant post-graduate experience, preferably in handling Insurance related matters.
  • Holding professional adjusting certification or willing to undertake further study in this regard
