Job Description

We are currently seeking a Group Director Learning and Development at the Corporate Office located in Hong Kong.

Acting as the talent advisor for Wharf Hotels, this role is responsible for creating the people development strategies that will ensure that all staff have the skills, knowledge and development opportunities required to help the organisation achieve its vision and mission. The role will lead the L&D function in providing a professional, proactive service, delivering L&D, solutions at all levels across the organisation. The role is responsible for measuring and evaluating the ROI on training for the business ensuring we are compliant and capable. Assisting Vice President Human Resources, the incumbent will leverage our values and brand insights to ensure effective Talent Resources Management.

The Group Director Learning and Development will be required to manage the talent landscape in Hong Kong, Greater China and the Philippines. The candidate will be responsible including but not limited to:

  • Formulate the organizational learning infrastructure to drive talent development and succession plan in corporate office and properties
  • Monitor, coach and guide the property Learning & Development Leaders to execute the training initiatives effectively
  • Design, curate and facilitate the corporate learning programs to enhance leadership competencies and service gaps
  • Drive digital learning platform as part of the overall Digital Transformation Strategy
  • Innovate and manage the robust career tracks to build talent profiles for talent pipeline
  • Forge robust institutional partnerships to maintain the successful reputation that attracts both local and international interns and trainees
  • Lead the annual performance appraisal exercise in corporate office and properties
  • Promote internal mobility by refining the programs of internal transfers and taskforce for cross-properties exposure
  • Coordinate all compliance training to ensure employees are familiar with the local legislations and frameworks
  • Keep abreast with the latest leadership and change development trends and methodologies with various training organizations, consultants, tertiary institutions, etc.

Your Skills:

  • A Degree with a major in Training and Human Resources Development or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of training and development experience in a managerial capacity in hotel or service related industry
  • Experience in managing multi-property training initiatives, with Corporate level training & development experience is an advantage
  • Passionate in curriculum design and proficient in engaging learning e-tool
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to multi-task efficiently
  • Highly analytical and strong facilitation, organizational and influencing skills
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Proficient in English business writing
  • Ability to work and interact with Associates at all levels
  • Ability to drive changes and achieve results in a fast-paced environment
