Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Planning Manager to develop seasonal Open-To-Buy, driving improvement in the buying and merchandising cycle including sales, sell through analysis and inventory.
  • Devise long and short-term merchandising plans based on past sales figures verse trends.
  • Develop team of Buyers to think strategically, and approach orders with a focus on business KPIs and company goals. Provide coaching to ensure direct reports are able to meet and exceed the requirements of the role.
  • Review all orders to establish a balanced range of merchandise suited to the customer profile of the company and channel positioning.
  • Make recommendations for changes and improvements to maximize sales potential and profit margins.
  • Lead development of projects from assortment POV and leverage opportunities for localisation where possible.
  • Establish vendor relationships to obtain favorable terms of agreement that mitigate erosion to margin.
  • Find opportunities within current work-flow to improve productivity both internally and cross-functionally. Work closely with internal stakeholders to strive to challenge existing processes.
Requirements:
  • Degree holder in Fashion Design, Fashion, Textile or any related disciplines.
  • 6+ years of experience in buying/merchandising; experience in multi-brand and varied categorical expertise are preferred.
  • Strong intuition with respect to future-state trends and emerging brands.
  • Knowledge in omnichannel merchandising is necessary. Exceptional understanding of the global consumer and an understanding of the online retail landscape across markets.
  • Good command of retail math concepts, applications and statistical analysis – OTB, inventory management concept.
  • Proven track-record of reaching sales targets, improving processes and managing multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to think strategically and approach challenges with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability and confidence to liaise at all levels. Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Less experienced candidates will be considered as Buying Manager.
