Job Description

I. Job Overview and Scope

SEKO Logistics is a business capitalizing on its successes and growing rapidly. Compliance will be a distinct service offering to our clients where SEKO will be an extension of their logistics and trade compliance. The role which will be part of SEKO Corporate compliance team is critical in ensuring the overall success of deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of Compliance programs, policies and procedures.

II. Roles and Responsibilities

Supply Chain Security and related

  • Lead to ensure compliance with SEKO’s C-TPAT security profile
  • Responsible for maintenance and upholding supply chain security process, policies and facilitation of audits and awareness training in Asia Pacific region
  • Maintain and facilitate to renew HACCP certification
  • Maintain TAPA Asia Pacific membership and lead to establish TAPA FSR certification for select facilities

International Trade Sanctions and related

  • Lead to monitor and keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
  • Assess and provide relevant guidance and advice to stakeholders in accordance to Corporate compliance policies and procedures
  • Oversee and drive KPI performance on Denied Party screening in freight management system

Vendor Management program

  • Lead to maintain, facilitate, and drive enhancement to existing procedures and policies for a robust and effective vendor management program
  • Setup, manage and perform periodic audit of existing facilities, vendors, and related certifications

Other Compliance

  • Proactively assess and update in Global compliance manual for Asia Pacific region to ensure adherence to local regulations and SEKO Corporate policy including but not restricted to code of business conduct, data security, data privacy and other related compliance
  • Lead to review and provide solutions/options to stakeholders in working with SEKO Corporate compliance
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing compliance controls and continuously enhance process controls via procedure revisions and select KPI reporting
  • Lead to facilitate Global compliance training programs and where applicable and appropriate deploy in-region related training programs to create and establish awareness
  • Lead to assess and project manage to achieve select certifications related to Quality, Environment, Health, Safety and Security

 III. Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree. Major course of study in logistics, transportation, international or business administration preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years of working experience in leading and managing Compliance in International freight forwarding covering Ocean freight, Air freight and Logistics in Asia Pacific and in particular China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations.
  • Certified Compliance professional is a plus.
IV. Competencies and other requirements
  • Ability to work independent of management supervision and resourceful
  • Excellent analytical and design control systems skills
  • Methodical and diligent with good planning abilities
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Good command of spoken & written English, Chinese and Cantonese. Additional relevant language/ dialect would be advantageous but not mandatory
  • Good PC skills in MS Office applications
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality
  • Able to travel as required
