Team overview

The Growth Operations and Strategy team supports the Chief Executive (CE) in aligning WeLab Bank’s business operations and strategy, guiding the organization’s focus to deliver on its overall mission and vision.  The team works to define the Bank’s strategic direction and steer activities to bring its values and priorities to life. Working as “internal consultants”, the team partners closely with leadership to drive initiatives and cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning and optimize decision-making for effective day-to-day operations.

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role 

What we do to shape the bank’s strategy:

• Work in partnership with Bank and senior leadership team to set strategy and develop the long-term vision for the organization.
• Identify and assess business opportunities to unlock short- and long-term growth. Formulate and operationalize plans/programs to capitalize on growth opportunities and satisfy strategic objectives.
• Conduct research on market landscape developments, trends and innovations impacting WeLab Bank and its growth opportunities. Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, providing insights to inform effective decision making.
• Lead and execute strategic partnerships and business development at the Bank level.
• Provide support on the Bank’s internal and external stakeholder management including for WeLab Bank staff, between WeLab Bank’s departments/functions, WeLab’s business units and WeLab Group and its stakeholders.
• Manage special projects for the CE.

What we do to drive business success:

• Work with cross-functional teams to develop and guide the implementation of strategic plans/programs focusing on driving effectiveness, agility, scalability, and efficiency to optimize day-to-day operations. Provide recommendations for, introduce, and implement best practices across the organization.
• Work with Bank functions to prioritize tasks, projects, and objectives. Ensure organizational alignment across the Bank, drive attention to focus areas, and escalate key risks or dependencies to CE.
• Monitor and track Bank functions’ progress towards aligned goals. Perform analyses on performance and business operations, provide feedback and recommendations on strategies and tactics to achieve business goals.
• Engage with relevant teams to ensure that critical strategic initiatives are vetted and well planned for prior to execution.

What is required and what we’re looking for 

• 10+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, strategy and operations roles.
• Experience in start-ups and passion for fintech is an advantage.
