SUMMARY:  

 The Tradelane Manager is responsible for the overall volume and gross profit growth in the designated route. 

Growth will be achieved in 3 different ways:

1)    Managing a team of RDMs assigned to the lane at local level

2)    Direct sales

3)    Supporting all field sales through joint sales visits

The Tradelane Manager will cooperate with the Global Account Team on opportunities relevant to the lane.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Managing a team of RDM strategically located in the country/area.
• Develop with Product new services to increase volumes and GP
• Identify top opportunities (top opportunity = great impact on volumes/GP) to pursue directly or with the RDM team.
• Serve as first point of contact for commercial questions from local sales, branches, operations, and RDM’s.
• Promote growth in TEU’s for FCL, CBM’s for LCL, KGS in AIR and overall growth in client base and number of shipments.
• Provide internal services to field sales and RDM’s in forms of marketing campaigns, flyers, pricing, and routing solutions.
• The TLM is responsible for the overall profitability of the lane
• The TLM is ultimately responsible for the route pipeline at national/area level
• Organize functions for customers on the route with visiting counterparts and a minimum of two route specific seminars per year for route specific prospects
• Prepare and present quarterly action plan and progress report to Manager
• Other duties as may be assigned

 REQUIREMENTS:

• College degree in related field or combination of education and experience
• Minimum 5 years successful international freight forwarding sales experience, familiar with Italy Tradelane is a must.
• Extensive knowledge of import/export processes and laws
• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently and Strong negotiating skills
• Able to travel extensive domestically and internationally
