Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance w/ minimum SF requirement for quotes to be provided (qualifying questions)
• Prepare accurate & timely SF rate quote(s) for C&D customers & routed business from overseas offices / partners, based on standard Pelorus FCL / LCL tariffs, standard FOB charges, and standard drayage / trucking rates from ExWorks - in standardized format and/or rate management system
• Request C&D client / routed overseas business target rate, when possible, to determine if any opportunity to increase margins on standard Pelorus rates
• Communicate with overseas offices / partners to secure orig/dest charges & escalate to PMQ if required
• Escalate pricing issues for routed business to Manager
• Provide consistent feedback to TLM(s) / LCL Manager(s) / to ensure current/correct service, transit time, rate validity & volume/capacity are specified in rate quotes to C&D clients (PPQ/ Freightos accuracy)
• Request immediate booking when quoting rate(s) to C&D clients via phone, call to request booking of submitting written quotes, including request for feedback from overseas offices / partners
• Adjust quoting parameters in conjunction with product leaders / TLM(s) to maintain appropriate win ratios, yield levels, and efficiencies
• Maintain & drive KPI’s to measure quoting effectiveness & efficiency to C&D customers
• Support execution of global, regional and trade lane SF commercial strategy & carrier policy
• Steer client SF volumes to preferred carriers based on TLM guidance
• Publishes Rate Quote information, including carrier, contract #, routing and buy-sell overview to Product Operations
• Review & deliver SF rate quote(s) for/to C&D clients in standard format

Requirement

• 3 years international Sea freight operations with FCL/LCL import and export knowledge
• Pricing experience
• Quotation experience to customers, Sales, overseas offices and agents
• Understanding of various components required for international sea freight shipments
• Some knowledge of market pricing levels for sea freight in China/Hong Kong import/export trade lanes
• Knowledge of dangerous goods
• knowledge of various container weight and cube limitations
• knowledge of regulatory environment affecting sea freight shipments
• FMC regulatory knowledge / understanding
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
• Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from customers or overseas agents.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff and customers.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
• Strong communication, customer service, analytical & organizational skills
• Able to recognize trends & recommend price adjustments accordingly
• Confidence to consistently provide feedback to Manager
• Understanding / knowledge of ocean carrier contracts, rail ramps used by ocean carriers, US drayage, chassis management & handling fees
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, eg. Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
