The Role

As part of the regional management team, the Operations Director APAC will provide key leadership for developing the region’s operations strategy in line with achieving the business’s delivery targets and in doing so play a key part in driving the business forward.  

 The role will report to the Managing Director, APAC, and responsible for the region’s Operations and Customer Service functions in accordance with the Company core values and purposes.

Responsibilities

Operations

  •  Achieve the commercial and sales  targets by developing a balanced supply of stocks and associated logistics requirements that align with inventory targets, financial goals and the customer satisfaction level
  • To drive rapid and consistent operational improvements to ensure that we deliver on time in full, to budget, to quality standards, to the customers’ expectations, and with the most effective use of the business resources.
  • Implement and refine scalable operational processes: Inventory management & stock availability, etc.and integrated systems to drive operations efficiency, accurate management reporting.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal functions for ensuring success with customer engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee budgets, performance improvements and cost reduction targets
  • Responsible for strategic planning & assessing risks and opportunities for both short and long term
  • Build end to end operational performance matrix, and provide quarterly report regarding business conditions and operational performance, variances and key actions and recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Ensure a focus on quality internal and external service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

People   

  • Hire, lead, develop, inspire, and motivate the team to deliver against regional, business and team objectives.   
  • Identify and proactively develop immediate deputy/successor to have the confidence, competence, and commitment to lead the team/project when in need.
  • Champion the Company Culture and drive employee engagement across the team.

Scope of the Role

Geographical scope of the role: APAC

Responsible for managing financial resources within the approved market budget

Key relations

Interact pro-actively with:  

  • Regional Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance Team
  • Senior Sales / business executives/function leaders in Headquarters & EMEA region
  • Key channel partners
  • Sales team size: <15
Environment

This role will be based in Hong Kong. There will be a high level of travel required across the Asia region, as well as to other global locations.

 The Profile

  • University degree. MBA or postgraduate degree is highly preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant business experience with at least 6 years at managerial level
  • Senior level Supply Chain with a track record of operational service level, experience working in international complex environments or similar is an advantage
  • Strong IT Skills and deep knowledge of ERP systems
  • Vision and strategic capabilities, driving change and transformation  
  • Superior negotiation skills with customers and business partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management of multiple teams, driving high performance and a culture of accountability
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills and working across functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong presentation skills, in person and virtually
  • Fluent spoken and written English is a must, Chinese (able to read and write), any other Asian language will be an advantage
