About our role 

We are looking for a talented Ice Rink Manager to be part of our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Portfolio, the candidate will be responsible to formulate long term business planning of the Cityplaza Ice Palace and monitor the smooth operation of the ice rinks’ business to provide exceptional experience to customers. Duties include leading the team to generate ideas for promoting public skating and skating school to an international level through publicity, themed events, shows and competition, preparing annual budget, as well as raising the Cityplaza mall’s brand image.

Responsibilities will include

• Monitor seasonal & ad hoc promotions & events of ice rink 
• Responsible for the recruitment & training of staff to ensure good customer service 
• To devise operational policies & procedures 
• Hold regular meeting with Duty Managers & Supervisors for daily operation issues 
• Deal with public safety issues 
• Co-ordinate for ice shows & annual ISI Skate HK competition 
• Coordinate activities between the ice rink and the shopping centre, to ensure mutual benefit for the rink and the mall 
• Identify new commercial opportunities and added value services 
• To build good relationship with different stakeholders

Together with creativity, integrity and passion, our ideal staff should be

• Degree holder preferably in operation management, recreational management or equivalent 
• Minimum 7 years’ experiences in ice rink management & maintenance 
• Passion to the sport of ice skating, sports entertainment or business development experience an asset 
• Full knowledge on ISI Skating system, ice maintenance and energy saving mechanisms 
• With good networking in professional & global skating circles 
• Good negotiation, ability to communicate with the media, community, customers, students and coaches 
• Proven managerial skills and a team leader 
• Experience in setting operational policies and procedures 
• Willing to work on shift (9:30am – 6:00pm; 8.5 hours per day with 5 days work week)
