Job Description

[Work Location: Science Park, Shatin]

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the appointee will be required to:

  • provide comprehensive technical services in laboratory and safety management, procurement and maintenance of the equipment, etc.;
  • assess, verify and monitor the procurement, operation and maintenance of the equipment for the laboratories and the R&D projects;
  • formulate and implement the operation policies and procedures for the laboratories (SOPs);
  • manage laboratories and the relevant facilities to ensure they are complied with all laboratory rules and safety regulations;
  • assist in the formulation of training programmes on safety and emergency response;
  • carry out regular routine maintenance, inspection and usage management of the laboratory equipment;
  • prepare and manage budgets and other resources of the Technical Section;
  • work in different satellite offices including Science Park at Shatin; and
  • perform any other duties as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • A recognised degree in Engineering, Textile Technology, Building Services, Safety Risk Management or a related discipline;
  • Have at least five years of relevant experience in safety and risk management, electrical and mechanical services, facilities or laboratory management, etc.;
  • Preference will be given to those applicants who have knowledge of and experience in Laboratory Infrastructure Management System (LIMS) or familiar with the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS, HKIAS);
  • A good team player with a strong sense of responsibility as well as good interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • Independent and able to work under pressure;
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese word processing.
