Job Description

We are looking for a I.T. Specialist (System Support).

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Specialist is responsible for maintaining the school infrastructure (i.e. hardware: servers, printers, peripherals; Software: operating systems, standard applications, e-mail etc), investigates reported faults and provides technical supports to ensure the smooth and effective day to day operation of ICT services.

Duties & Responsibilities

Liaise with vendors; obtain quotations for the provision of IT solutions; scheduling with IT vendors; working with IT vendors; verifying quality of work from IT vendors; acceptance of work provided by IT vendors

Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructures including networking equipment, servers, VM Machine and peripheral equipment including printers

Installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, software applications and system management tools

Configure Active Directory including the features of DHCP, DNS, WSUS, Group Policy, Permission, File Sharing

Document composition such as design specification, deployment guide, admin guide, user guide, etc.

Perform routine tasks to maintain user accounts and permissions, including implementing disk space and printer quota policies.

Perform system security and backup. Monitor security systems for potential threats and intrusion signs and make sure that security patches are always up to date.

Provide technical guidance and assistance to the other systems staff as required.

Respond to operational emergency situations (including off-hours calls)

Perform other comparable IT duties as assigned which are within the area of knowledge and skills required by the job description

Required Qualifications & Experience

Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, or information systems or related field preferred

At least 1-2 years of experience in an IT environment (preferably working in a multi-platform environment)

Demonstrate experience of operating in installing, configuring and troubleshooting different operating systems such as Windows Server, Unix, Linux or MacOS

Hands-on technical skills on MS AD, GPO, DNS, SCCM, Exchange, PowerShell, vCenter, VMware, etc

Knowledge of networking protocols and understanding of the TCP/IP model.

Experience with cloud platform/services (AWS, Azure,O365, etc) will be an advantage

Ability to analyse, interpret and use judgment in the resolution of problems.

Basic to intermediate knowledge in computer networking and server environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills in English. Cantonese is a must.

Strong organisational skills; proactive; ability to organize daily tasks; work independently and as a member of a team.
