Job Description

The Associate Account Director is part of the Client Service team in our Hong Kong office. The primary responsibility is to manage accounts on a day to day basis and effectively contribute to the efficiency of the business unit. The role is also responsible for creating meaningful impact on our client’s businesses and as a key interface between Kantar and our clients. The role includes client engagement, consultancy, study design and analysis, driving preparation and delivery of presentations and reports as well as internal responsibilities such as people management and the implementation of broader business initiatives to improve business performance.

Job responsibilities:

Analysis and Research

  • Design appropriate research solutions to drive meaningful insight for clients’ needs and their business
  • Understand, interpret and synthesize data from various sources (e.g. sales data, media spend data)
  • Translate insights into engaging stories with clear and concise implications that will help clients make better marketing decisions
  • Foster analysis and research skills, along with brand and advertising knowledge across reports on all accounts

Account Management

  • Manage accounts across regions/markets to ensure as a team all account deliverables are met while working to agreed budgets
  • Accountable for the accurate and timely delivery of account outputs
  • Responsible for accurate analyses, data checks, writes, checks and crafts reports and presentations
  • Delegate to team effectively, providing constructive feedback and support for other account members
  • Maximize account efficiency and profitability by reviewing, improving and streamlining processes and systems

Client Management

  • Clear understanding of the client’s business, key stakeholders and their needs
  • Instigate and facilitate client discussions to better understand their business issues
  • Advanced interpretation of data and ability to articulate insights clearly and impactful
  • Provide a point of view on brand, media and communications issues aligned with Kantar strategy
  • Develop strong relationships and deliver to account responsibilities sufficiently to retain clients and maintain existing business
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow existing client business, revenue and profitability

People Management

  • Responsible for managing and monitoring junior team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of client deliverables
  • Identify, set and communicate clear objectives to develop and nurture line report’s careers, and articulates performance against these objectives
  • Coach and develop account team members through constructive feedback to identify areas of strength, and areas required for improvement

Job requirements:

  • Degree qualified, and at least 7+  years of experience in relevant research, brand, media or communications experience,
  • Proven expertise of market research with regional exposure and specialized in quantitative research 
  • Solid understanding and insights of marketing and business management
  • A positive and proactive team player with strong communication skills
  • Meticulous, attention to detail, good analytical skills
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, Proficient in both written and spoken English,
  • Strong Client servicing, business development and negotiation skills
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered as Account Director
  • Immediate availability is highly preferred.
