Job Description
THE JOB
Reporting to the Assistant Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
Reporting to the Assistant Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- To assist the Assistant Purchasing Manager to carry out authorized purchases that are within budget;
- To carry out sourcing and related bidding exercises in accordance with the procurement procedures;
- To follow up and liaise with vendors and users on related purchases;
- To assist in updating and maintaining the approved vendor list and to maintain accurate records and documentation;
- To support departmental administrative activities; and
- To perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 passes in HKCEE or 5 HKDSE subjects with at least Level 2 or equivalent, including English, Chinese and Mathematics or any post-secondary qualifications;
- Ability to interpret procurement policies and procedures, with one year solid procurement experience is an asset;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese. Ability to speak Putonghua is preferred;
- Proficiency in computer software applications including MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing; and
- Able to work under pressure.
