• Design and develop the next generation Digital IT solutions for advancing the Ascend 200 and TDA strategies in the company. Proactively advocate for and utilize technology innovation to establish AIA as an industry leader in innovation and to create business advantage

Roles and Responsibilities:

Application Development, Architecture Design/Implementation

• Manage local, vendor and offshore teams to deliver systems on time and within budget
• Proactively identify risks / issues for implementation and provide mitigation plan.
• Work with business partners to define the strategy and roadmap of the digital solutions and detail the requirements for technical implementation
• Conduct solution assessment using systematic approach jointly with the business.  Define the end-to-end solution architecture and design covering both the frontend and backend systems
• Promote and adopt software engineering discipline to ensure quality and production requirements are met
• Lead the design and development of scalable high-performance digital solutions
• Lead the development of both frontend (web & mobile) and business logic layers
• Lead agile development on cloud using DevOps and with latest technologies
• Lead a team of software engineers to develop complex applications with micro service architecture
• Ensure the stability and performance targets are met or exceeded with proper solution design and implementation, covering all end-to-end components including infrastructure
• Highly skilled in analyzing / designing applications and assessing impacts holistically by ensuring cross-platform compatibility and optimization
• Highly skilled in understanding complex applications independently
• Ensure smooth production run of application systems and able to troubleshoot production issues quickly
• Quick learner in analyzing user requirements, existing system flows, business logic, etc. and able to apply technologies to solve the business problems
• Participate in the end-to-end software development lifecycle from design, development, testing, documentation and adhere to enterprise standards
• Jointly develop applications with offshore teams or vendors.  Participate in design and code reviews effectively
• Provide continuous improvement for existing systems and streamlines software development process to control software integrity
• Support the Digital Delivery & Transformation team in defining and managing strategic goals and deliverables for our AIAHK digital channels and track implementation success

System Support and Technical Advices

• Analyze technical issues and devises & provides cost effective solutions
• Trouble shoot / Support for production problems and provide resolutions
• Design and promote software engineering principle and discipline for the developer community
• Provide training to upgrade IT knowledge on business and applications
• Conducts research on new IT technology and prepares reports and recommendations
• Lead sizable projects, prepares and monitors project schedule
• Propose on IT practices on application development and system support
• Propose the feasibility of System Upgrades (OS, application framework and SDK etc.)

Other Responsibilities

• Ensure deliverables and systems comply with all applicable standards and guidelines
• Perform other responsibilities and duties assigned by managers to meet business objectives
• Proactively get updated of the latest digital implementation and drives for implementation
• Ensure team members who perform regulated activities have obtained the relevant licenses and fulfilled the licensing requirements
• Ensure all AIA HK TDA project and BAU deliverables are maintained in compliance with AIA Group Security and other standards

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Minimum Bachelor degree in computer science or engineering, preferably with Master degree
• 10+ years IT experience, 5+ years experience in Digital related projects, 3 of which in the capacity of delivery lead
• Preferably with experience in multi-national financial services company or technology consulting firms
• Preferably with knowledge on Insurance industry
• Experience on digital development and cloud technology

Competency

• Full stack technical capabilities on digital development, including technologies such as HTML5, React/Angular/Vue/Flutter, node.js, iOS / Android app development, Java, Spring Boot, IBM Websphere / JBoss, Kafka, Chatbot, CRM / CEM, CDP, Blockchain, RPA, Single Sign On, etc.
• Experience in API Development and Microservices Architecture Design
• Experience on Cloud and data technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS, Mongo, Data Lake, Python, etc)
• Experience in CRM solutions (e.g. MS Dynamics) and Call Center technologies (e.g. IVRS)
• Experience in Container technology like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum team using DevOps
• Experience in Identify Access Management and authentication standards like OAuth, OpenID connect or SAML
• Adobe Experience Manager / Adobe Analytic experience would be a plus
