THE ROLE
- Responsible for leading the Quality Specialists in Hardgoods to partner with our sourcing managers and suppliers to deliver safe, quality, compliant products for the BIG W customer
- This role is responsible to ensure that Asia sourced products meet the standards, processes and reporting standards required for the category and ensure compliance with Australian regulations
- To ensure all steps of the NPD process which are required to be completed by QA are completed and documented in the system (PLMS) by the QS responsible for the category
- Take the accountability of the goods which are sourced by BIG W Asia operation and within the Asia region to ensure product safety and quality of all products
- Lead the team to ensure BIG W factories are risk assessed and a program of factory visits are implemented annually
- Investigate and provide recommendations on Product Recall / Withdrawal processes of BIG W Asia products in conjunction with BIG W QA Australia
- Work with the approved CB (Certified Body) partners to manage the outcome of the Woolworths Supplier Excellence Quality Audits, PSI & Lab Tests aligned with our documented processes
- Drive continuous Improvement in the QA process to improve efficiency whilst not compromising quality, safety and compliance of products
- To effectively root-cause incidents to implement preventive controls to future proof the operation
- To build a cohesive Quality team who are partnering with sourcing to deliver product quality and safety our customers trust from BIG W
- Lead & coach the QA team members to build strong partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Lead, develop, and maintain talent and career paths within the QA team
