Job Description

Position Summary:

Reporting to Trade Marketing Manager, this position will develop, organize and execute all trade marketing strategy and merchandizing activities for all Pernod Ricard HK products to meet established sales target at traditional on trade & wholesalers on-trade outlets and brand visibility.  In addition, the incumbent will also coordinate with Brand Marketing team in all designs and production, development of merchandising display, provide concrete advice and align depletion programs to key customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Marketing Strategy and Channel Development Plan

  • Analyze sales data and market intelligence including pricing (RSP & Trade Price), distribution, brand visibility, trade event/promotion to identify potential opportunities
  • Work with Sales and Brand teams to develop annual trade marketing strategy and channels development tactic and plan.  Build up cross-brand holistic promotion and merchandising plan for each channel (anticipation of existing contracts and key on-trade wholesalers)
  • Establish profile and classification of potential opportunities e.g. strategy for target showcase or outlets
  • Monitor and track trade marketing A&P

Strategic brands PVA (presence, visibility and activation) Development

  • Identify with Sales team for potential outlets for driving brand visibility and activations
  • Propose effective and quick solution (e.g. brand activation toolkit) to support Sales team for channel business/development
  • Enhance brands PVA and business results for identified outlets

Trade Promotion Management

  • Liaise internally and externally to execute the promotion activities committed by contracts with outlets, evaluate promotion effectiveness in quantitative or qualitative methods
  • Work closely with Brand Marketing Team to design customized promotional programs and merchandising materials and tools
  • Liaise with relevant promotion and PG agencies and suppliers to develop below-the- line materials in support of in-country marketing plans. Monitor, analyze, challenge and report on agencies and suppliers performance and cost
  • Consolidate promotions, market information and reports (financial & POSM) internally
  • Continuously review quantitative (ROI) and qualitative (feedback externally/internally and visibility) results with Head of Trade Marketing for improving plans and actions

Key Customer Relationship Development and Management

  • Be the spokesperson in relation to customers on all trade marketing activities for all brands (in liaison with Brand Managers)
  • Meet customers with Sales to negotiate the merchandising & promotion
  • Develop strong relationship with key trade partners and gather market intelligence from trade partners and consumers through market visit (night time)

Merchandising & POS Management

  • Being the lead of POS management to ensure the inventory level is healthy and cost efficiency
  • Monitor and track Trade Marketing spend against A&P budget or LE and ensure compliance with corporate policies (COA, Marketing, digital and Business codes of conduct, MFM management rules, approval policy, etc.) for the assigned channels
  • Develop and plan quality merchandising programs to improve product sell-through and control expenses while achieving positive ROI. 
  • Manage sourcing process and coordinate with agencies and production houses for developing consumer centric GWPs and events, etc.
  • Effective vendor management and ensure quality control of merchandising materials
  • Liaise with Brand Managers on brand guidelines and the applications
  • Drive innovation and anticipate the trend to improve the consumer’s experience in a scalable, cost effective matters

Promoter Management

  • Negotiate annual contract / remuneration with agency
  • Motivate and give guidance to the promoters to achieve sales target
  • Organize promotion briefing on behalf of Brand Teams
  • Develop and implement annual training plan for promoters, coach promoters on brand/product knowledge/policy, and appropriate behaviors as brand ambassadors
  • Regular visit to check promoter performance, collect feedback from Sales Team and regularly communicate to promoter agency
  • Lead the agency evaluation on half year basis with involvement of Sales Team.

Others

  • Report on a regular basis competitors’ activities and analyze impact to PRHKM
  • Be the key planner for trade related events (e.g. tasting, new product launches, brand ambassador dinner) to drive trade advocacy for strategic brands and strengthen reputation of PRHKM

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

Essential

  • Degree holder in Business
  • 5+ years working experience in sales & marketing
  • Creative, energetic, confident and proactive with good organizational and time management skills
  • Good sense of consumer trends and with ability to relate it to business opportunity
  • High competency in spoken and written English and Cantonese

Desirable:

  • Trade marketing experience in beer/ wine & spirit industry
  • Knowledge of W&S industry
  • Good presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience in engaging trade / consumer targets through digital approach
