What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role

• Perform Infrastructure Advisory on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter Financing of Terrorist Financing (CFT) and Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) related system tunings, to secure the effectiveness and efficiency in generating alerts that triggered from name screening, transaction monitoring, fraud monitoring and customer due diligence modules
• Perform Quality Assurance (QA) on AML, CFT and FCC related investigations. Including those investigations that are triggered by receiving intelligences from Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA). To ensure the completeness of investigations and are in adherence to regulatory expectations, as well as Welab Bank's internal AML/FCC Policies and Procedures. The scope of QA may cover to the extent of corresponding policies and procedures related reviews
• Perform QA and Infrastructure advisory to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Electronic Identity Verification (e-IDV) related controls
• Draft articles in association with relevant QA and AML infrastructure reviews and to offer recommendations that achieve a balance between AML/CFT/FCC risks and business continuity
• Conduct AML/CFT/FCC related compliance reviews, identifying the key risk areas and to ensure the robustness and indepthness of QA scopes and methodologies
• Prepare training materials or management reports to relevant staffs or senior management of Welab Bank
• Participate in ad-hoc projects, including the gap analysis among AML/CFT/FCC related areas in different jurisdictions, to ensure the developments of AML/CFT/FCC related systems, policies, or procedures are in adherence to regulatory expectations cross different jurisdictions where Welab Group operates, including Welab Bank in Hong Kong and Indonesia WeLab Digital Bank
• Participate in projects to enhance AML or FCC systems efficiency and effectiveness, including threshold tuning using big data analytics tools and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

What is required and what we’re looking for

• University degree or higher education in a relevant field
• Professional certifications, such as CAMS, AAMLP, CAMLP or CFE is preferred but not a must
• Knowledge in coding and big data analytics, including Python or SAS coding is an advantage
• 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the AML/CFT compliance function
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements on AML/CFT/FCC related areas
• Passionate and detail-oriented, “never not my job” attitude
• Strong written and presentation skills to allow effective communication with relevant stakeholders and senior management
• Ability to deliver quality work under tight schedule and pressure
