Job Description
Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Chai Wan)

Major Duties:
(a) To provide technical support to teaching activities as well as special projects and events;
(b) To assist in laboratory equipment installation/maintenance and training session preparation;
(c) To assist lecturers during laboratory/practical classes;
(d) To assist in the procurement and inventory control of relevant stores and equipment; and
(e) To assist in the implementation of safety measures in laboratories and maintaining the tidiness of the workshops/studios/laboratories.
Requirements:
(a) A recognized diploma or higher certificate in the areas of food science, food technology, chemistry, microbiology or relevant disciplines;
(b) At least 2 years’ relevant work experience;
(c) Knowledge of safety management for dangerous substances;
(d) Good work initiative and be a good team player; and
(e) Candidates with solid experience in laboratory operation would be an advantage.
Notes:
(1) Shortlisted candidate(s) may be required to attend and pass a trade test.
(2) Candidates should specify their knowledge of safety management for dangerous substances in section (vii) “OTHER INFORMATION” of the application form.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and/or outside normal office hours.
