About the job

This is a new headcount for the development of the CNI Group, which is a group of industrial and trading companies. Its core business units are located in HK and PRC while there are other subsidiaries in East Asia, Europe and US.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Lead the legal department (including a PRC team)
• Provide legal support to the business
• Draft, negotiate and review business agreements, contracts and other legal documents
• Liaise with external legal counsel and conveying or explaining external legal advice to internal teams
• Control and monitor legal risks and offering advice/solution
• Translate documents/correspondences related to legal issues
• Manage and maintain legal data or archives for the legal department
• Provide legal training to internal employees as required
• Assist in dealing with ad-hoc projects upon request

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Law discipline with at least 5 years’ legal experience (qualified as a Hong Kong solicitor will be an advantage)
• Experience in PRC legal matter and strong understanding in the PRC legal system will be preferred
• Solid knowledge of general commercial matters
• Proficiency in English, Chinese and Putonghua
• Collaborative and a team player
• Station in HK office but able to attend PRC offices on a weekly basis (after pandemic)
• Able to offer pragmatic advice
• Strong attentiveness to detail, well-organized and multi-tasked
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to facilitate work process
• Resilient and capable of working responsibly in a dynamic environment
