PowerBI SQL Developer

Job Summary

Cognizant is rapidly growing its Analytics Line practice and is seeking a Power BI Engineer with strong SQL and Data Preparation experience, to serve one of our clients.

This specific role is a Power BI Engineer to support the migration of existing Excel reporting into Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct functional requirement gathering with business users to understand their reporting needs
• Document the requirements covering current business rules and processes
• Design and implement data preparation pipelines resultant to the Power BI datasets needed for the reports
• Develop prototypes for validating requirements, data assets and report layouts with business users
• Build the Power BI reports and support user acceptance testing and parallel runs

Job Requirements

• Degree holder in Computer science, Finance or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting in banking
• Solid experience building Power BI datasets (data preparation) and reports/dashboards
• Proven experience working with Excel reports
• Ability to deliver financial reporting applications from collecting user requirements, identifying data sources, developing SQL codes for data preparation to developing reports in Power BI under minimal supervision
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
• Sound communication skills in English and Chinese
• Advanced SQL
