Primary Function

The Medical Director will oversee and support the clinical development strategy and execution of multiple companies of various stages, ranging from early to late development. The position will lead multiple projects (Rheumatoid Arthritis, RA) to ensure the product development is in line with scientific breakthrough and evolving Innovation Center demands. You will work collaboratively with internal medical team members as well as cross -functionally with pre-clinical teams.

Job Description

• Play a leading role in driving Sinomab project to its project objectives and building Innovation scientific capability including making CMC deliverables, defining regulatory path and implementing clinical development plan.
• Manage an international medical team in the US as well as globally as a disease area expert, lead development and support of the pre-clinical and clinical development strategy and execution in the companies located in Innovation Center. Build clinical development organization to ensure consistency of scientific strategies with target label claims and goals.
• Manage a portfolio of complex development projects serving as the primary scientific contact in our focused areas (RA) to ensure the identified asserts be further developed and advanced.
• Participate in ongoing enhancements/development of core team processes, structures, systems, tools, and other resources in all clinical development and operational areas.
• Maintains the highest standards and levels of scientific knowledge in the related therapeutic and disease areas of assignment.

Working Location

• Work in the US.
• May required occasional travel domestically and internationally, basically to Hong Kong or mainland China, if necessary.

Requirements

• M.D. or Ph.D with life science background in RA area with extensive experience in the field
• 10 years or above working experience in global pharmaceutical /biotech or related industry with track record of effective contribution to development of disease strategies and plans
• Broad cultural orientation, experience of working in an international environment
• Be visionary and contribute to longer-range drug development.
• Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and goals across multiple development assets to ensure the timely on-target accomplishment
• Able to effectively drive discussions and decisions toward desired end-results.
• Strong leadership qualities and create a culture of collaboration and teamwork that fosters open communication
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a sense of responsibility
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, fluency in  Putonghua is a must.
