Job Description

This role is responsible for managing the merchandise planning of assigned countries including Full Price, Outlet and E-Commerce, as well as offering support on analysis, reporting and inventory monitoring for Head of Planning & Allocation APAC. 

The candidate takes the lead in creating and presenting Australia and HK monthly OTB, setting up KPIs that include sales achievement, gross margin goals and inventory level targets. She/he works with multiple departments – Merchandising, Finance, Retail Operation, IT and CS&L, to understand the markets and to drive business strategies. The APM also contributes to the weekly business review by identifying risks and by offering recommendations, which cover discount rates, promotion calendar, traffic, conversion, UPT, and VPT by store, region and channel.

The APM also leads allocator(s) for Australia and HK/Macau, covering initial allocations, A&R system parameters, HK hub support, seasonal changeovers, cross-markets stock transfers and price set-ups. The team ensure efficient stock turn over, identify inventory risks and offer/execute actions.

The incumbent leverages outstanding analytical, qualitative and communication skills to perform merchandise analysis and overall inventory productivity for Australia and Hong Kong/Macau:

Incorporate buying guidance, financial targets, retail input and monthly sales forecast (18 months) into the planning system APTOS-TXT. Provide relevant documents and reports monthly.

  • Summarize between-channel stock transfers and evaluate financial impact and inventory flow.
  • Support promotion proposals (by category or by SKU) and conduct profitability analysis.
  • Project off-season stock level and recommend actions to liquidate aged inventory.
  • Present open-to-buy (including store clusters) for both Full Price and Outlet campaigns.
  • Offer frequent walk-throughs to advise business performance and suggestions.
  • Analyze different promo schemes and impacts on discount, sell-through, profits etc.
  • Maintain data and ensure consistency on Sell-In, SKU-master and various sales tracking reports.
Requirements: 

  • Degree holder in relevant disciplines
  • Qualified candidates will have a minimum 6 years of Merchandise Planning experience
  • Mastery in inventory management, as well as experience in managing Promotions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL is necessary. While MicroStrategy/BI Reporting, APTOS-TXT Planning Software is not a requirement, it will prioritize candidacy.
  • Strong ability to convert technical/complex ideas into presentable language that leads to audience’s quick understanding and management’s efficient decision-making.
  • Fluent in English – Written and Verbal – necessary to align with Global Merchandise Planning and Regional Retail Partners
