Job Description
The appointee will work on developing new technology for modifying polymers for various industrially relevant applications. His/her work responsibilities include the following:
- Reviewing literature and commercial products to understand technological development and market needs;
- Formulation design, process optimization, and materials characterization;
- Incubation of ideas to explore collaboration opportunity with industrial partners; and
- Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.
- PhD or Master in Polymer Science / Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science / Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines;
- Prior knowledge in polymer physics, polymer processing and/or polymer chemistry;
- Hands-on experience in the characterization of chemical, thermal and mechanical properties of polymeric materials, for example, using FT-IR, NMR, DSC, TGA, HDT, tensile and compression tests, and contact angle measurement;
- Experience in polymer processing, for example, twin-screw extruder, single-screw extruder, and injection molding, is a plus;
- Work independently and be able to communicate in teamwork;
- Positive, analytical, critical thinking and good troubleshooting skill;
- Willing to work under pressure; and
- Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing/presentation skills as well as abilities in literature/patent search.
- Candidates with more working experiences will be considered as Sr. Engineer.
Salary and Benefits
We offer 5-day work, attractive remuneration package to the successful candidates. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be offered on a contract basis, renewable subject to mutual agreement and performance.
