Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager (Information Technology), the incumbent will assume the following:

  1. Assist in design and implementation of various applications and services, including but not limited to customer relationship management system, case management system, record management system, accounting system, online payment system and other core systems
  2. Manage and work with vendors to resolve incidents and problems
  3. Perform procurement exercises for the acquisition of various IT items
  4. Solve users’ day to day IT-related issues and provide technical support on various IT systems such as email system, anti-virus system, website and online booking system
  5. Assist in planning, formulating, and implementing IT policies and procedures
  6. Provide end-user training with training materials
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors

 Requirements:

  1. Holder of a university degree with no less than 5 years of work experience
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in managing large-scale IT projects with proven track records
  3. Experience in procurement exercise, system / application analysis and design, development of applications, programming, implementation of mobile apps, adoption of machine learning technology, maintenance, IT end-user support services, database administration, training and preparation of documentation (e.g. user manual)
  4. Experience in managing Microsoft products would be an advantage, covering Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Endpoint Security, MS Teams, Power App, Power BI, MS Office, etc.
  5. Familiar with IT procurement lifecycle, contract administration and vendor management
  6. Good analytical and organisation abilities
  7. Good interpersonal and communication skills
  8. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  9. Responsible, self-motivated, mature and able to work independently in a startup environment

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of System Analyst or IT Officer.

This employment with the Travel Industry Authority shall be with a fixed term of three years contractual period. The offer of further employment beyond the Term will be solely at the discretion of the Travel Industry Authority.

Travel Industry Authority ("TIA")

The TIA is an independent statutory regulatory body established under the Travel Industry Ordinance (Cap. 634) (“Ordinance”).  The TIA is responsible for promoting the integrity, competence and professionalism of travel agents, tourist guides and tour escorts through a statutory licensing and regulatory system, and regulating shops that inbound tour groups are arranged to patronise through an administrative scheme. The TIA is also responsible for managing the Travel Industry Compensation Fund ("TICF") which provides outbound travellers purchasing outbound packages with protection and advising the Government on matters relating to the regulation of the travel industry. With the full commencement of the new regulatory regime on 1 September 2022, the TIA has taken up the licensing and trade regulatory roles from the Travel Agents Registry and the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong respectively.

The TIA is headed by the Executive Director, underpinned by three Directors and other staff members to support the TIA in discharging its statutory functions and daily operation.
