Scope of Duties: 

• Perform day-to-day operational support on database incidents and problems
• Oversee general database support tasks like backup/restore, schedule task setup, user accounts and access right changes, etc.
• Provide project support and technical advice on database design considerations
• Establish database related guidelines and standards; and enforce compliance across application teams
• Monitor database healthiness and review database design to drive performance improvement
• Provide technical/ functional assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements
• Work closely with external consultants, developers, architects and other stakeholders in evaluating and proposing solution approaches and design, and ensure solutions are adhere with corporate IT standards and practices
• To monitor the database utilization; provide precaution or reactive responses to database events; perform capacity planning to ensure the database capacity can cope with business demand
• To oversee the database and solution projects to ensure the quality deliverables on time and within budget with effective and efficient support and maintenance

Requirements: 

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in database administration and management
• Strong understanding of database technology and best practice, experience in MSSQL and MySQL is required, Oracle is a plus
• General understanding of modern technology stack, including infrastructure, information security and solution architecture
• Effective verbal and written communication skill
• Ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of stakeholders
• Experience in data platform and data warehouse technology is an advantage
• Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
