Lidl Asia are hiring a Senior Sustainability Manager who will execute Lidl’s sustainability policies, projects, and work programs within our supply chain and across the broader business.

• Ensures all Factory engagement occurs in line with Lidl’s strict Ethical Sourcing Policies.
• Ensure programs & policies are in place to support the safest and ethical working environment across our factory base.
• Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
• Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously.
• Revise procedures, reports, etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
• Develop and implement projects that support the overall further evolution of Lidl’s Compliance project.
• Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks.
• Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
• Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
• Collaborate with Corporate Counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations.
• Prepare reports for Senior Management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
• Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
• Be a leader of internal auditors or agents across multiple regions in accordance with Legal Standards / Obligations and Lidl’s Requirements.
• Assess opportunities, risks and trends in current and new sourcing countries and contribute to timely updates of Country Profiles.
• Establish and build relationships with governing bodies, NGO’s and industry associations to further the goals and the transparency of the Lidl Compliance Program.

• Proven experience as a Sustainability or Compliance Manager with knowledge of sustainable textiles manufacturing.
• Bachelors in environmental science / sustainability, law, finance, business administration or a related field. Relevant compliance or sustainability Certifications are advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
• Strong business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
• Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
• An analytical mind with the ability to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations.
• Excellent English communication skills are required, whilst German is advantageous.
