Garment Technician

Our client is an EU sourcing office, they are looking for a Garment Technician for Knitwear.

Job Description

• Be responsible for production sample approval, of workmanship and technical problem solving.
• Conduct risk assessment on the quality process and products, raise concerns and offer possible solutions.
• Prepare comments to the manufacturer in garment fit and construction throughout the sampling and production process, maintaining consistency across our core block shapes.
• Sharing results & working towards continuous improvement of suppliers performance on the sample rejection locally as well as with UK office
• Manage a portfolio of factories to ensure the delivery of consistent technical & product quality and drive continuous improvement with the supply base
• Have solid fabric knowledge of knitwear, colour and material context
• Factory sign off for Quality Management, ETI/GSP, Product safety systems
• Perform ad hoc projects as assigned

Requirement

• Minimum 5 years working experience in technical area like product development, garment fitting, relevant working experience for UK/European market is a plus
• Someone with In-depth technical knowledge in garment production, with good understanding of knitwear
• Familiar with the UK retail industry and / or European garment buying processes
• Organized, detail-oriented, hard-working and can meet timely deadlines
• Someone with a strong understanding of product construction, fit development, print techniques, washes, and stitch and minimum make standards
• Experienced in working in buying office is preferred
• Excellent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, both spoken and written
