Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • To co-ordinate and monitor all technical and screening matters for year-round film programmes, annual film festival, and other ancillary film programmes including but not limited to :
    • co-ordinating censorship issues with OFNAA;
    • assisting in film/video checking;
    • assisting in video editing, conversion and coordination of trailers, slides and other screening related materials production;
    • co-ordinating subtitling production and projection issues;
    • co-ordinating with screening venues to maintain projection standards;
    • co-ordinating subtitle production and providing onsite support at screening venues;
    • co-ordinating and taking care of setup and operations of the online streaming platform;
    • co-ordinating events and activities )including galas, premiere events, online events and other Society organized events and activities);
    • assuming duties at HKIFF Temporary Office/counter during the annual HKIFF; and
  • To perform any other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or management from time to time

Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent;
  • Proactive, Independent, good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • 2 - 3 years’ full-time working experience in film related field will be an adventage;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua;
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro / easyDCP Player/ subtitle editing software / Adobe Illustrator;
  • Knowledge of cinema projection system (DCP or films) will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of film format and video / film checking will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of film subtitle production will be an advantage;
  • Experience in technical coordination and working in film festival/film industry/production houses/cinema will be an advantage;
  • Proficient in foreign languages (Japanese, Korean, German, French, Italian, Spanish etc) will be an advance;
  • Proficient in PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); and
  • Require to work overtime and at irregular hours including full-day work on weekends and public holidays during peak seasons.
