Job Description

Job Scope
The ideal candidate has a good understanding of the China insurance business and comes from a proven data engineering background. You will be tasked with building a greenfield data mart for our China’s A&H insurance business.

You will be working closely with the respective business partners (insurers, hospitals, pharmacies etc.) to collect data, process and provide respective analysis support.

Responsibilities
  • Building a greenfield data mart/warehouse through the entire end-to-end lifecycle from project planning, business (under requirement/analysis, define the architecture/data/BI track, testing to deployment etc.
  • Consulting with data management to get a big-picture idea of the Actuary and UW’s data storage needs
  • Presenting the team with mart/warehousing options based on their storage needs
  • Designing and coding the data mart/warehousing system to desired team specifications
  • Conducting preliminary testing of the mart/warehousing environment before data is extracted
  • Extracting team data and transferring it into the new warehousing environment
  • Testing the new storage system once all the data has been transferred
  • Communicate with data team in insurance company to settle basic analysis issues
  • Work with multiple TPA (Third Part Admin) to leverage TPA data for internal data usage
  • Support pricing and reserving team for data analysis

Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ working experience in data infrastructure and architecture with demonstrated experience and capability in Data warehousing, data modelling and design, data integration, data migration, ETL, BI and Big data solutions skill sets
  • Experience with traditional DWH such as Teradata, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL Server
  • Experience in building Java-based Systems
  • Good knowledge in application architecture and design patterns
  • China Insurance Data Project Management experience preferred
  • University graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information System, Information Management or related discipline
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Frequent travel to China required
