Role Summary

(1) Trainee - Property & Casualty Team
(2) Trainee - Construction & Engineering Team

Suitable on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidates enabling them to carry out duties involving on-site survey of loss/damage, processing claims data, facts finding, claims investigation, risk assessment, loss verification and adjusting, settlement negotiation, determination of liability, and claims portfolio management.  

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Processing claims data and compiling regular claims bordereau  
  • Communicating and close liaisons with policyholders, brokers, agents, insurers, consultants, government organizations, and other stakeholders during the course of claims processing and investigation    
  • Site visits, case meeting, interview with witnesses and taking of statements
  • Cause investigation and analysis  
  • Case law research and collating documents relevant to Small Claims or legal proceedings
  • Calculating loss adjustment and negotiating claims settlement in accordance with insurance principles and practices, applicable laws, and policy terms and conditions.
  • Preparation of professional reports and settlement recommendation
  • Assist in presentation of marketing materials, RFP, service tender documents, etc.

Skills :

  • Cantonese speaking and Chinese writing. A good command of spoken and written English. Fluent in Putonghua, Mandarin or any other third language is beneficial
  • Microsoft Office skill and ICT literacy
  • IT proficient and ability to pick up new technology enabled systems
  • Fresh graduates in legal associate degree or engineering or 1-2 years work experience in QS, engineering or construction industry
  • Completed or partway through professional examinations: ANZIIF, ACII, or relevant disciplines  
  • Good organizational and communications skills
  • Be able to prioritize workload and collaborate with teams on a timely basis
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and take ownership of your own caseload
  • Ability to build good relationships with clients
  • Conscientious, hard-working as well as flexible and adaptable during times of surge
