Job Description

Our client is a leading buying office.    To cope with their rapid expansion, they are looking for a Merchandising Assistant with around 1 year of experience to join their team.    The incumbent will be hired on a 1-year contract with an opportunity to become permanent.   This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the market leaders with a fast track career.

Responsibilities:
  • You will support all the sourcing and buying activities for the assigned product categories in Hard goods
  • Support workflow and coordinate vendor site visits for assigned category. 
  • Assist to strategically source and follow program guidelines to meet established goals for assigned category. 
  • Order follow up and all administrative tasks from placement to shipment. 
  • Assist in market research and coordinate all merchant visits at trade fairs, vendor visits and exhibitions for market sector. Prepare and follow up after each visit and show. Understand and articulate the business. 
  • Assist to source new vendors as needed, research and visit new and existing manufacturers, factories required.
  • Work closely with team, vendors and global partners on buying calendars, merchandise categories, and production schedules. Negotiate appropriately. 
  • Ensure inspection programs and all company compliance guidelines are followed with regard to sourcing
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree holder 
  • Around 1 year of experience in Merchandising in leading buying office, trading companies or importers.    Fresh graduates with majors in Supply Chain & Logistics Management will also be considered
  • Good understanding in Hard Goods for North America and UK markets will be an added advantage
  • Entrepreneurial, self-initiated and eager to learn with a high sense of integrity and strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication, presentation and inter-personal skills
  • High Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Flexible for occasional business trips
