Reporting to Head of Database Intelligence, a Section Head, Data Compliance & Governance is required to support this initiative by overseeing a global data protection and governance program, educating and coaching all colleagues to implement the program.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and continuously improve the corporate-wide data privacy and protection program for HKTDC
• Work with internal and external parties to monitor the latest development of data compliance and protection requirement globally
• Review and provide practical recommendations for data compliance, protection and governance policies and guidelines, and work with related parties for implementation
• Manage and continuously improve the data governance program to uphold data quality
• Conduct corporate-wide data privacy impact assessment and data compliance audit
• Finetune and update the data privacy, protection and governance policies and guidelines to ensure they are in line with strategic and business direction, applicable laws and industry best practice
• Conduct communication and training programs to educate front-line and back-office staff on the above policies and guidelines
• Participate in or establish as necessary data privacy and compliance working groups and initiatives across the organization

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; law degree a plus
• Minimum 6 years in compliance, operational risk, IT systems security or business process management, of which at least 3 years must include direct experience in compliance or operational risk management (includes audit, legal, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk)
• Extensive knowledge and experience working with data privacy and protection requirements in HK and other countries is required
• A firm understanding of EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and China’s Personal Information Protection Law/Cyber Security Law would be highly regarded
• Experience in project management and change management
• Good inter-personal and communication skills, proactive working attitude with team spirit and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Experience in advising senior management a plus
• CIPP or equivalent certification/qualification preferred
• Work location at Tseung Kwan O Logistics Centre

Candidates with less experience/qualification will be considered for the position of Data Compliance & Governance Manager.

Remuneration and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be appointed on a two-year renewable contract basis. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including contract-end gratuity, annual leave, medical and dental benefits, will be offered.
