Job Description

To support the operation and maintenance of the molecular lab for routine DNA and genomics testing, not limited to COVID-19 testing. Assume responsibility in ensuring accurate, precise, and timely performance of molecular testing while assuring compliance and meeting of all regulatory requirements and quality standards.

• Support in the planning, implementation and running of the molecular Lab.
• Support the recruitment, selection and staff training for molecular testing.
• Develop the SOPs and workflow protocols to perform molecular testing.
• Ensure optimal performance; efficiencies and quality of a high throughput molecular Lab.
• Ensure that laboratory policies and procedures are being followed by laboratory employees.
• Manage periodic internal, external, regulatory and accreditation audits
• Provide technical advisory on clinical laboratory methods, sciences and applications.
• Support the company’s business philosophy, leadership, values, and ethics.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

 Preferred Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in molecular diagnostics work
• Ability to organize, communicate, teach, and work with others in an effective manner
• Knowledge of state and local standards, regulations, guidelines and requirements effecting operations of a clinical reference laboratory
• Analytical thinking and good communication skills

 Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• MPhil or PhD in molecular biology, medical technology or related sciences
• Minimum 3 years working experience in a molecular laboratory and among which at least 2 years in research and development
• It is a definite advantage with MLT Part I or MLT Part II registration (but it is not essential).
