Responsibilities

Responsible for providing efficient and professional underwriting services including:

• monitor daily task volumes and take necessary actions to ensure department duties are completed timely and smoothly
• assessed suggested cases from junior underwriters
• provide quality and professional training or response to enquiries from representatives of sales channels, and handle complaints relating to underwriting
• negotiate with reinsurers for reinsurance related matters

• collaborate with related parties in implementing changes or enhancements
• responsible for successful launch of assigned projects or special tasks
• promote efficiency and professional standard of the department
• provide training to sales and internal staff to enhance their underwriting  knowledge
• participate in enhancing underwriting guidelines relating to new products or guideline enhancements when necessary

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree holder
• Minimum of 8 years' underwriting experience in individual life insurance industry, with at least 3 years' supervisory/managerial experience
• Experience in auto-underwriting or related projects is an added advantage
• FLMI/ACS qualification or equivalent
• Very good interpersonal communication skills
• Strong management skills with analytical thinking
• Strong business sense and eager to make continuous improvement
• Candidate with less experience may be considered as Assistant Underwriting Manager
